Patna : Pakistan were all out for 482 in 164.2 overs after tea on day 2 of the first cricket test against Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, UAE, on October 8, 2018, riding 110 in 240 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes by Haris Sohail and 80 in 165 ball with 9 fours and a six by Asad Shafiq.

Sohail and Shafiq added 150 run for the 5th wicket. Opener Mohammad Hafeez had scored 126 with 15 fours on the first day of the match while his opening partner Imam-ul-Haq made 76 with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Captain and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed was run out for 15 while Babar Azam was run out for 4.

For Australia, fast bowler Peter Siddle took 3/58 while Mitchell Starc took 1/90. Spinner Nathan Lyon took 2/114. Jon Holland and Marnus Labuschange took one wicket each.

Australia were 30/0 at stumps on October 8 with openers Usman Khwaja and Aaron Finch batting on 17 and 13 runs respectively. Finch is playing in his first test.
