Patna : Pakistan were 308/8 in 107 overs at stumps on Day 2 in their first innings in 1st test against South Africa (SA) at National Stadium, Karachi, Pakistan, on January 27, 2021, as Fawad Alam, 35, scored 109 in 235 balls hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf, 27, scoring 64 in 84 balls with 9 fours. Azhar Ali scored 51 in 151 balls with 4 fours while Mohd. Rizwan (wk) scored 33 in 59 balls hitting 6 fours. Paakistan lead by 88 runs. SA had scored 220 runs in their first innings
Resuming at their overnight score of 33/4, Pakistan lost their 5th wicket that of Azhar Ali at 121. Ali fell to spinner Keshav Maharaj for 51 and it was 121/5. Azhar Ali and Fawad Alam added 94 runs for the 5th wicket. ohd Rizwan fell to fast bowler Lungi Ngidi and it was 176/6. Mohd Rizwan and Fawad Alam added 55 runs for the 6th wicket. Fawad fell to Nigidi for 109 and it was 278/7. Fawad and Faheem added 102 runs for the 7th wicket.Faheem Ashraf fell to fast bowler Anrich Nortje for 64 and it was 295/8. At stumps, Hasan Ali was unbeaten on 11 while spinner Nauman Ali was batting on 6.
