Patna : Electing to bat after winning the toss, Pakistan were 207/4 in 90 overs at stumps on day 1 of the second test against New Zealand at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, on November 24, 2018, with Haris Sohail Ali batting on 81 in 240 balls with 10 fours and Babar Azam on 12.

Azhar Ali was run out for 81 in 187 balls with 7 fours and a six. Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hazeez scored 9 each while Asad Shafiq was out for 12. Azhar Ali and Sohail added 126 run for the third wicket. For New Zealand, Colin de Grandhomme took 2/31 in 19 overs while spinner Ajaz Patel took 1/60 in 19 overs.
