Patna : Pakistan defeated New Zealand (NZ)by 48 runs in the 2nd T20I at Eden Park, Auckland, New Zealand, on January 25, 2018. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan scored 201/4 in 20 overs with opener Fakhar Zaman making 50 in 28 balls hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes and his partner A Shehzad scoring 44 in 34 balls hitting 6 fours and a six.

Babar Azam made an unbeaten 50 in 29 balls hitting 5 fours and a six while Captain and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmad made 41 in 24 balls hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes. Zaman and Shehzad were involved in a 94 run partnership for the first wicket in 10 overs.

For New Zealand, left arm fast medium bowler B Wheeler took 2/36, right arm medium fast bowler Seth Rance took 1/47 and C de Grandhomme 1/18 wicket.

Chasing a a victory target of 202, New Zealand were all out for 153 in 18.3 overs with spinner Mitchell Santner scoring 37 and B Wheeler 30 run. Opener Martin Guptil made 26. Captain Kane Williamson was out without scoring while opener Colin Munro made 1. Grandhomme made 10 while T Bruce was run out for 11. Wicketkeeper G Phillips made 5 while spinner I Sodhi made 15.

For Pakistan, Fahim Ashraf took 3/22 while Shadab Khan took 2/37 wicket. Fast bowler Mohammad Amir took 2/28 and Rumman Raees 1/27. H Ali took 1/27.

Fakhar Zaman was declared Player of the Match. The three-match T20I series is now tied 1-1.
