Motihari : Over one lakh pilgrims and kanwariyas from different places of north and western parts of Bihar gathered on the campus and  adjoining areas of famous  Someshwarnath Mahadeo Ttemple at Areraj in East Champaran District in North Bihar on the occasion  of Mahashivratri on March 11, 2021, offered Holy Water on shivlingam. The gate of temple was opened at 4 am and the devotees started offering the  holy waters to God Shiva. Security was beefed up near
the temple and mela ground  on the occasion.
East Champaran district administration provided the fullproof  security, light, drinking water, besides making other and other arrangements for the  devotees to worship  and offer  holy water drawn  from  river  Ganga , Gandak, Saryu, and  Bagmat. SDM, Areraj, Sanjeev Kumar, said that  the administration has made  elaborate arrangements  and is alert to prevent any untoward incident . The Covid -19 protocol was followed strictly on temple premises.

Ravi Shankar Giri, Mahanth of  the Temple,  said that around one  and half lakh kanwariyas and pilgrims of  Bihar , Uttar- Pradesh,  and Nepal  have alreary offered  holy water on shivlingam.. Every thing is ‘Bol-Bum’ for the devotees  here.

DSP Jyoti Prakash said  that the  Control Rooms are working round the clock and police jawans and 100 magistrates  have been deployed at all important points to provide services to the devotees . Twentyone  CCTV have been  installed at all important points on temple premises .The doctors and  para-medical staff are also on duty. The volunteers are assisting police in keeping the temple and surroundings areas clean. The main gate of temple and other gates  have been decorated with flowers  and illuminated with colourful lights.
