Patna : Top seed and defending champion Naomi Osaka, 21, Japan, crushed World No 140 Coro Gauff, 15, USA, 6-3, 6-0 to enter the women’s singles 4th round of US Open at Arthur Ashe Stadium, New York City, USA, on September 1, 2019.

Osaka won 6 break points in the match to 2 by Cori Gauff. Osaka also won 8 games in a row in the match to 2 by the American teenage sensation. Ahn won 4 break points in the match to 2 by Ostapenko. Ostapenko though fired 8 Aces in the match to 2 by the American. Ahn won 4 games in a row to 3 by the Latvian. Ahn will face World No 26 Elise Mertens, 23, Belgium, in Round of 16 on September 2.

World No 30 Julia Gorges, 30, Germany, upset World No 7 Kiki Bertens, 27, Netherlands, 6-2, 6-3 to enter the 4th round. Jorges won 4 break points in the match to 1 by Bertens. Julia also won 3 games in a row in the match. The German won 41 service poin ts to 24 by Bertens. Julia will face World No 23 Donna Vekic, 23, Croatia, in Round of 16 on September 2.
