Patna : Third seed Naomi Osaka, 23, Japan, thumped 22nd seed Jennifer Brady, 25, USA, in straight sets in final at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Park, Australia, to win her second Australian Open (AO) title, her fourth Grand Slam singles title ovreall, on February 20, 2021.

With it, Osaka has won two AO singles time (2019 & 2021) and two US Open titles (2018 & 2020). Osaka had defeated 10th seed Serena Williams, 39, USA, the winner of 23 Grand Slam singles titles, in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 in semi-finals on February 18, 2021.

Osaka beat Brady 6-4, 6-3 in Australian Open final on February 20, 2021. The Japanese ed seed won 4 break points during the match to 2 by Jennifer Brady. Osaka also won 6 games in a row during the match to 2 by the American. She fired 6 Aces in the match to 2 by Brady. The American committed 4 double faults to 2 by the Japanese.

Osaka, in all, won 69 points in the match to 54 by the American. Osaka’s winning percentage both on her first and second serve ( 73 % & 58%) was much better than that of Brady’s ( 62% & 48%).
