Patna : World No 89 in ATP rankings Reilly Opelka, 21, USA, beat World No 9 John Isner, 33, USA, on February 16, 2019, to enter the final of New York Open, an ATP World Tour 250 points event, at New York, USA. Opelka beat Isner in a three-set thriller 6-7, 7-6-7-6 in 2hr 31 minute in the semi-finals in a huge upset in the tournament.
Opelka will face World No 154 Brayden Schnur, 23, Canada, a qualifier, in the final on February 17, 2019. Schnur upset World No 49 Sam Querrey, 31, USA, the 6th seed, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 in 1hr 54 minutes in the semi-finals on February 16, 2019, to reach his first ATP tournament final.
