New Delhi : Only 9,102 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,o6,76,838 cases in the country at 8 am on January 26, 2021. In sharp contrast, a total of 15,901 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours in India taking the tally to 1,03,45,985 on January 26, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases (1,77,266) by a huge margin of 1,01,68,719. The active cases accounted for just 1.66% of the total cases ( 1,06,76,838) on January 26, 2021, a drop of 6,916 cases in last 24 hours.
India has tested 19,30,62,694 samples so far including 7,25,577 samples on January 25, 2021. A total of 20,23,809 Healthcare Workers have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far in India including 4,08,305 beneficiaries on January 25, 2021.
The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,53,587 in India on January 26, 2021, with 117 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 30 in Maharashtra, 17 in Kerala, 13 in Chhattisgarh, 7 in West Bengal, 7 in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Delhi, 5 in Punjab, 4 in Haryana, 4 in Bihar, 4 in Tamilnadu, 3 in Karnataka, 3 in Gujarat, 2 in Madhya Pradesh, 2 in Rajasthan, 2 in Andhra Pradesh, and 1 in Jharkhand. India had recorded 131 new deaths on January 25, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
