Ara : One person was killed and another seriously injured when a speeding truck collided head-on with their motorcycle near Sakaddi village under Koelwar police station on Ara-Patna main road in Bhojpur District on June 4, 2020.
Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there but the doctor referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of his critical condition. The deceased was identified as Kamlesh Pandey while the injured was identified as Ramesh Pandey, his elder brother.
As the news spread, the villagers blocked the road near Sakaddi on Ara-Patna main road for about two hours raising slogans against the district administration. They went on rampage, damaged the truck and burnt tyres on road and demanded compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials.
SHO, Koelwar police station, said that Rakesh Pandey of Sakaddi village along with his younger brother Kamlesh Pandey was going on his motorcycle when a speeding truck collided head-on with the motorcycle near Sakaddi village on June 4, 2020. Kamlesh Pandey was killed on the spot while his elder brother Ramesh Pandey was seriously injured.
