One killed, another injured in Rohtas accident

Sasaram : One Harendra Kumar of village Suara was killed and his nephew Gautam Kumar seriously injured when a speeding truck dashed their motorcycle from behind near village Suara under Dehri-on-Sone police station in Rohtas district on April 17, 2017, evening.

The villagers blocked the road with the body of the deceased to protest the indifferent attitude of the district administration that failed to reach the spot despite being informed several times. SHO, Dehri-on-Sone police station, Birendra Kumar Yadav came after an hour of the incident and persuaded the agitating people to lift blockade. Later, police brought the body to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there.

SHO Yadav said that Harendra Kumar and his nephew Gautam Kumar were returning to Suara village from Dehri-on-Sone on April 17 was evening when a speeding truck dashed their motorcycle. As a result, their motorcycle was trapped between the wheels of the truck and the truck driver, in his bid to escape, dragged them for about half- a- kilometre. When the villagers heard the cry of the youth, they forced the driver to stop the vehicle. Later, police with the help of a crane took out the motorcycle and both the persons trapped inside the truck.
