Ara : One person was killed and another seriously injured when a speeding Pick-Up van collided head-on with a motorcycle near Kulharia on Ara-Patna main road under Koelwar police station (PS) in Bhojpur District on December 18, 2021.
Irate villagers blocked Ara-Patna main road with the body paralysing the movement of vehicles. They raised slogans against the district administration and demanded immediate arrest of the driver of the Pick-Up van and compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. The injured Vikas Kumar Singh of Kulharia was sent to Ara Sadar Hospital.The identity of the deceased is still to be established. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Later, police brought the bodyover to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
SHO, Koelwar PS, said that Vikas Kumar Singh along with a person was going to Patna when an Ara bound Pick-Up van collided head-on with their bike near Kulharia killing a man on the spot while Vikas Kumar Singh was injured.
