Patna : Reigning Olympic Champion and World No 4 Chen Long, 30, China, and Asian Games Champion Jonatan Christies, 22, Indonesia, entered the final of Yonex French Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 event, at Paris, France, on October 26, 2019, evening.They will clash in the final on October 27, 2019. Chen Long has won 30 career titles while Christie has won four.

Fifth seed Chen, a two time former World Champion, beat World No 8 Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 23, Indonesia, in straight games 21-19, 21-18 in 44 minutes in the semi-finals on October 26. Chen won 42 rallies in the match to 37 by Ginting, who had stunned World No 1 Kento Momota, 25, Japan, in the QFs. Chen won 9 consecutive points in the match to 5 by Ginting, the 8th seed. Ginting though still leads Chen 6-4 Head to Head.

Sixth seed Jonata Christies edged past World No 6 Viktor Axelsen, 25, Denmark, the 7th seed, 7-21, 22-20, 21-19 in 81 minutes in SFs battling back from a game down. Jonatan won 50 rallies in the match to 60 by Axelsen, the 2017 World Champion. Both the players won 11 consecutive points each in the match. Axelsen still leads Jonatan 3-2 Head to Head.
