Patna : New Zealand (NZ) scored 273/8 in 50 overs in 2nd ODI against India at Eden Park, Auckland, NZ, on February 8, 2020, with opener Martin Guptil scoring 79 in 79 balls hitting 8 fours and 3 sixes and Ross Taylor scoring an unbeaten 73 in 74 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Chahal took 3/58 in 10 overs while fast bowler Shardul Thakur took 2/60 in 10 overs. Ravindra Jadeja took 1/35 in 10 overs. India won the too but opted to bowl.

James Neesham was run out for 3 making it 175/5. Colin de Grandhomme fell to Shardul Thakur for 5 making it 185/6. Mark Chapman fell to Chahal for 1 and it was 187/7. Tim Southee too fell to Chahal for 3 and it was 197/8. But, after that Ross Taylor and fast bowler Kyle Jamieson added 76 runs in their unbroken partnership for the 9th wicket. Jamieson remained unbeaten on 25 in 24 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes.
