Patna : Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc rocked Trans-Tasmanian rival New Zealand (NZ) reducing them to 109/5 in 32 overs at stumps on Day 2 in their first innings in first test at Perth Stadium, Perth, Australia. Starc has taken 4/31 in 11 overs while Josh Hazlewood has taken 1/0 in 1.2 overs. Ross Taylor was unbeaten on 66 in 86 balls with 8 fours while B J Watling (wk) was yet to open his account at stumps.

Replying to Australia’s 416 all out in 146.2 overs, NZ made a disastrous start to their first innings losing two wickets with only one run on board. Opener Jeet Raval fell to Hazlewood for 1 while his opening partner Tom Latham fell to Starc for 1 making it 1/2. Captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor added 76 runs for the 3rd wicket. Williamson fell to Starc for 34 in 70 balls with 7 fours making it 77/3. Henry Nicholls to Starc for 7 and it was 97/4. Fast bowler Neil Wagner also fell to Starc for a duck making it 97/5.
