Patna : New Zealand (NZ) hammered Bangladesh (BAN) by an innings and 117 runs on day 3 in the 2nd test test to level the two-match test series 1-1 on January 11, 2022. With NZ enforcing follow on, BAN were all out for 278 in 79.3 overs in their second innings with Liton Das scoring 102 in 114 balls smashing 14 fours and 1 six, his 2nd century in tests, and Captain Mominul Haque scoring 37 runs. Fast medium bowler Kyle Jamieson took 4/82 in 18 overs while fellow fast medium bowler Neil Wagner took 3/77 in 22 overs.

BAN were skittled out for just 126 runs in their first innings with fast medium bowler Trent Boult taking 5/43. NZ had declared their first innings at 521/6 with Captain Tom Latham (opener) scoring 252 runs, his 12th ton in tests, and Devon Conway scoring 109, his 3rd test century.Tom Latham, 29, was named Player Of The Match while Devon Conway, 30,  was Named Player Of The Series. BAN had stunned NZ by winning the first test.

It was last match for Ross Taylor, 37,  and he made it sweet by taking the wicket of medium fast bowler Ebadot Hossain, his 3rd wickets in 112 tests. Taylor scored 19 centuries in tests during his career. He also scored 21 centuries in 233 ODIs. Taylor scored 28 runs in his last test.
