Patna : New Zealand (NZ) beat Afghanistan by 7 wickets in the 13th match of ICC World Cup 2019 at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, on June 8, 2019, late night, with Captain Kane Williamson scoring an unbeaten 79 in 99 balls hitting 9 fours while Ross Taylor scored 48 in 52 balls with 6 fours and a six. Replying to Afghanistan’s 172 all out in 41.1 overs, New Zealand scored 173/3 in 32.1 overs. NZ had won the toss and opted to bowl.

Batting first, Afghanistan scored 172 with Hashmatullah Shahidi scoring 59 in 99 balls hitting 9 fours while opener Hazratullah Zazai scored 34 in 28 balls with 5 fours and a six. Hazratullah’s opening partner Noor Ali Zadran scored 31 with 5 fours while captain Gulbadin Naib made 4.

For New Zealand, medium fast bowler James Neesham took 5/31 in 10 overs while fast bowler Lockie Fergusan took 4/37 in 9.1 over. Colin de Grandhomme took 1/14 in 4 overs. Neesham was declared Player of the Match.

In the 12th match of ICC World Cup at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, England beat Bangladesh by 106 runs with opener Jason Roy scoring 153 in 121 balls hitting 14 fours and 5 sixes and Jos Buttler scoring 64 in 44 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes. Captain Eoin Morgan scored 35. England scored 386/6 in 50 overs. In reply, Bangladesh were all out for 280 in 48.5 overs with Shakib Al Hasan scoring 121 and  Mushfiqur Rahim scoring 44.
