Patna : New Zealand (NZ) were all out for 274 in their first innings in the 3rd test against Pakistan at Sheikh Zayeed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE, in the first session of the play on day 2 on December 4, 2018. Wicketkeeper B J Watling, 33,  remained unbeaten on 77 in 220 balls with 4 fours.

Resuming at their overnight score of 229/7, New Zealand lost their 8th wicket that of William Somerville when the New Zealand score was 254. Somerville scored 12 in 99 balls and added 45 runs for the 8th wicket with Watling. For Pakistan, spinner Bilal Asif, 33, took 5/65 in 30.1 overs while Yasir Shah took 3/75 in 41 overs.
