Patna : New Zealand were 451/4 at stumps on day 2 in their first innings in the first test against Bangladesh at Seddon Park, Hamilton, New Zealand, on March 1, 2019, with captain Kane Williamson batting on 93 in 132 balls with 9 fours and Neil Wagner batting on 1. Resuming at their overnight score of 86/0, both the New Zealand openers Jeet Raval,30, and Thomas William Maxwell Latham (Tom Latham), 26, scored centuries and added 254 runs for the first wicket.
Raval scored 132 in 220 balls with 19 fours and a six, his first test century, while Latham scored 161 in 248 balls with 17 fours and 3 sixes, his 8th century. Ross Taylor fell to Soumya Sarkar for 4 while Henry Nicholls fell to Mehidy Hasan for 53 in 71 balls with 7 fours. New Zealand lead by 217 runs.
Bangladesh were all out for 234 in their first innings with opener Tamim Iqbal scoring 126.
