Ara : Activists of the National Student Union of India (NSUI) led by their leader Sridhar Tiwari took out a ‘Rickshaw Procession’ on May 23, 2018, that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at Shaheed Chowk where they burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in protest against rising prices of Petrol and Diesel on regular basis.

Sridhar Tiwari said that the Narendra Modi government had proved to be a failure on every  front and works against the interest of the people and farmers. He said the government had no control and command on any department and prices of essential commodities were skyrocketing. He warned the Union Government that the Congress would launch an aggressive nationwide agitation if prices of essential goods particularly of Petrol and Diesel are not slashed immediately.
