Patna : Muzaffarpur police on July 23, 2018, started digging on the premises of a local Shelter Home to exhume the body of an inmate who was allegedly killed and buried by some employees following some arguments with her. The digging was carried out after one of the inmates of the Shelter Home alleged in her statement before a Magistrate that a girl was killed and buried there.

Muzaffarpur Shelter Home was sealed about a month back after news spread that several inmates were sexually exploited at the place. The medical report from Patna of 21 of the inmates states that 16 of them had sexual contacts. Medical report of another 8 inmates is still awaited, according to a  Muzaffarpur police official. All the 29 inmates have already been shifted to other places.

According to SSP, Muzaffarpur, Harpreet Kaur, so far nothing has been found during digging. Police might expand the area of excavation, she said. Ten persons have been arrested in the case till date.
