Bagaha : Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve (VTR) officials and Police have failed to recover body of a 32 years old man Subhash Mahto of village Sidhav under Laukaria police station under Bagaha-2nd block in West Champaran district from the jaw of a crocodile despite lapse of 24 hours.

Sources said that Subhash Mahto of village Bodasar was coming to Bagaha on his bicycle on June 27, 2019, to earn livelihood through Tirhut  Main Canal service road. He was attacked by a crocodile on the service road while coming out of the  canal. Mahto raised an alarm hearing which the villagers and labourers working on the adjoining field rushed to the spot but by that time the crocodile had slipped deep into the canal water putting Mahto into his jaw.

SHO, Laukaria police station, Munna Kumar, BDO, Bagaha- 2, Pranav Giri, Circle Officer, Bagaha -2, Rakesh Kumar, have been deployed on the spot with divers to recover Mahto  but to no avail so far.
