Patna : Police are yet to make any breakthrough in the murder of an Under Secretary of Planning and Development Department, Bihar Government, Rajiv Kumar, 59, in the wee hours on August 14, 2018.

Police had picked up 3 persons from adjoining slum areas in this connection on August 14 itself and they are being quizzed. DSP, Secretariat, on August 15 said that police were close to cracking the case. We are near the leads, the DSP said.

It may be mentioned here that 14 cops including the Inspector incharge, Secretariat police station, Rajesh Kumar Bhaskar, and Sub-Iinspector Anant Kumar were placed under suspension for derelicton of duty soon after the incident. All of them were on patrolling duty in the same area at the time of the incident, according to Zonal IG N H Khan. DSP, Secretariat, is heading the Special Operation Group probing into the incident.
