SasaramĀ : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on April 6, 2018, attended a meeting at a village in Rohtas district, where he also reviewed progress of various development schemes. Nitish also inspected a school, where children were being provided mid-day meals prepared on solar cookers. The CM said that it was an unprecedented sight for him and he would always remember it.
Appreciating the roles played by self-help groups (SHGs), Nitish said that there were 8 lakh self-help groups in the state now and the objective is to increase their number to 10 lakh. Each SHG employs 11 to 15 women, he said. Emphasising on the tourism potential of Rohtas district, the CM said that a decision has been taken to begin ropeway connectivity to spots like Rohtas Garh Fort and Mundeshwari temple.
