Patna : JD(U) National President Nitish Kumar was on November 16, 2020, sworn-in as Bihar Chief Minister for the 7th time starting the year 2000 by Governor Fagu Chauhan at a function at Raj Bhavan in the presence of top NDA leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J P Nadda. Two Deputy Chef Minister : Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, both from BJP, and 12 other  Ministers including Former Speaker, Bihar Assembly, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary also took oath on the occasion. Bihar now has, for the first time, two Deputy Chief Ministers on the pattern of Uttar Pradesh.

Santosh Kumar Suman, son of HAM (S) President and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) Chief Mukesh Sahni, Vijendra Prasad Yadav, Ashok Chaudhary, and Mevalal Chaudhary, Sheela Kumari, all JD(U), Amrendra Pratap Singh, Mangal Pandey, Ramprit Paswan, Ram Surat Rai, and Jivesh Kumar Mishra, BJP, were also among the Ministers sworn-in on November 16, 2020.  Santosh Suman is an MLC. The RJD boycotted the event.

Several senior BJP Ministers in the previous Government including Nand Kishore Yadav, Prem Kumar, Vinod Narayan Jha, have failed to make it to the State Cabinet this time. There is, however, speculation that either Nand Kishore Yadav or Prem Kumar will be made Assembly Speaker. There were allegations of irregularities in implementation of development schemes in some departments in the previous government. The absence of some senior leaders in the state cabinet is being seen as decline of Sushil Kumar Modi (SuMo) era in Bihar BJP.
