Patna : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on September 28, 2017, reviewed the prepations being made for Dussehra Mahotsav and Ravan Vadh programme at Patna Gandhi Maidan on September 30 with Divisional Commissioner, Patna, Anand Kishore, Zonal IG, Patna, N H Khan, Patna DM Sanjay Agrawal and SSP Manu Maharraj and other senior officials of Patna district administration.
Around 70 CCTV cameras have been installed at Patna Gandhi Maidan to keep a close watch on the proceedings. Ten Watch Towers are also bein installed at the sprawling ground. About 10,000 balloons would be released in the air during Dussehra Mahotsav. The statue of Ravan is likely to be 70 ft high this year. It may be mentioned here that 32 persons had died in a stampede at PatnaGandhi Maidan immediately after Ravan Vadh programme on October 3, 2014.
The CM had also visited several Puja Pandals including Navyuvak Sangh Sri Durga Puja Samiti, Dak Bungalow, Sri Sri Durga Puja Samiti, Sheikhpura, at Patna on the occasion of Maharsaptami on September 27.
