Sitamarhi : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on July 21, 2019, reviewed flood situation, rescue and rescue operations at ground level in Sitamarhi district. He inspected relief camp, health check- up camp, Social Welfare Department run centres and a place for physically challenged flood ravaged villagers near toll plaza at Runnisaidpur.

Nitish also visited a community kitchen and inquired about the number of persons getting food there. He was informed that  825 persons were getting food there. The CM directed the officials concerned to open one more community kitchen at toll plaza. Altogether 215 kitchens are running in the district. More than 21, 000 cattles are talking shelter at different earmarked places.
Nitish also chaired a high level flood review meeting with Sitamarhi MP Sunil Kumar Pintu, MLCs Devesh Chandra Thakur and Rameshwar Prasad, MLAs Dr Ranju Geeta and Gayatri Devi, Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, DMD Principal Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Commissioner, Tirhut Division, N Lal, IG, DM Dr Ranjeet Kumar Singh, DDC Prabhat Kumar, Zila Parishad chairperson Uma Devi, and district level office bearers of several political parties.
The CM said if situation does not improve fast, the option of air dropping of food packets is always there. He was satisfied with the relief and rehabilitation initiatives of district administration.
