Patna : Bihar CM and JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar on July 22, 2017,  met Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi at his residence in Delhi and reportedly discussed current political situation in Bihar including graft charges against his deputy Tejaswi Yadav. Tejaswi, younger son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, represents Raghopur constituency in Bihar assembly.

The Bihar chief minister met Rahul Gandhi amidst speculations of rift between the JD(U) and RJD over contnuation of Bihar Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav in the state cabinet in the wake of CBI registering a case against him in connection with land for hotel scam on July 5, 2017. RJD Chief Lalu Prasad has rejected the demands for resination of Tejaswi but Nitish is learnt to have strong reservation on his continuance in the state cabinet.
