Patna : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on December 26, 2017, evening, inaugurated a 854 metre long flyover near Patna Railway Junction. Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, State Road Construction Department (RCD) Minister Nand Kishore Yadav and Patna Saheb BJP MP Shatrughna Sinha were present on the occasion.

Nitish said that construction works were going on war footing in Bihar. He said that the work on Patna Metro Rail would also start shortly and a propopsal in this connection will be sent to the Centre soon.  Nitish said that he had spoken to Urban Housing Minister Hardip Singh Puri in this regard. Puri was in Patna on December 25, 2017.

The RCD Minister said it is a new year gift to the Patnaites asit would ease traffic congestion near Patna Junction. The flyover links eastern flank of Chiraiyatand rail overbridge to the Mithapur overbridge. It has been constructed at a cost of Rs 167.85 crore by Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam. The work on the flyover started in November 2013.
