Motihari : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar while addressing an impressive gathering at Mahanth Shivshankar Giri College Ground at Areraj in East Champaran District on December 4, 2019, urged the people to participate in a big way in the Human Chain on January 19, 2010, to create awareness about importance of ‘Jal Jeevan Hariyali. Nitish said that the people across the state had earlier formed Human Chain on ‘Liquor Ban, against Dowry System & Child Marriage’.
Nitish, who has embarked on ‘Jal Jeevan Hariyali Campaign’ across the state, had visited West Champaran District in North Bihar on December 3, 2019. The CM said that the Government will spend Rs 24,500 crore in next three years in the state on ‘Jal Jeevan Hariyali’. The Government will purify one lakh ponds and clean and renovate three lakh well during this campaign, Nitish said and added that rain water will be conserved through rain harvesting.
Nitish launched 493 schemes worth Rs 408 crore and inaugurated 96 schemes worth Rs 238 crore under Pipra Panchayat in riverine area of river Gandak in East Champaran District on December 4, 2019. He said that 19 crore trees had been planted across the state increasing the green coverage by 15 % from 9 %. He also inaugurated a MNREGA Park there. He also handed over key of a tractor to Jeevika Didi Chhoti Kumari for agriculture purpose. The CM visited three village under Pipra Panchayat on the day.
