Motihari : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on June 16, 2020, inaugurated the 1,440 meter long concrete bridge built over river Gandak
river at Sattarghat under Kesariya block in East Champaran District through video conferencing. This bridge has connected Gopalganj to East Champaran district and its construction was completed in last 8 years by a private firm Bashishtha Construction Company at a cost of Rs 264 crore. Sattarghat is around 65 km away from Motihari, headquarters of East Champaran District.
CM Nitish Kumar, on telephone, said that he had laid the foundation stone of this bridge on April 20, 2012, and on June 16 he dedicated it to the nation The CM said his government believes in execution of development works and he will come to East Champaran again
to provide irrigation facilities to all agricultural lands.
A colourful function was organised at Sattarghat on left end of the bridge in East Champaran where Vinod Narayan Jha and Pramod Kumar, both ministers, East Champaran DM Shirshat Kapil Ashok, DM, Gopalganj, Arshad Aziz , E Champaran SP Navin Kumar Jha, Gopaganj SP Manoj Kumar were also present.
East Champaran DM Ashok addressing the gathering at Sattarghat on the occasion said this bridge will connect the Ram-Janaki Circuit and distance between Motihari and Chhapra has also been reduced by 45 km. East Champaran, West Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, and UP districts on border will benefit from it.
