Patna : Bihar CM and JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar on September 11, 2017, ridiculed RJD chief Lalu Prasad for holding a rally at Bhagalpur on September 10 over Srijan fund scam and said he should instead approach the judiciary for court monitored CBI probe into the scam. Nitish termed Lalu’s Bhagalpur rally as `suicidal street play’ and said it would cost him dearly.

Nitish asked Lalu to go to the Supreme Court or high court to say that he did not have faith in the CBI and request them to monitor the central agency’s inquiry into the Srijan scam. He was speaking to mediapersons after his weekly `Lok Samvad’ programme. Nitish said that if anyone has any document against anybody relating to the Srijan scam the same should be handed over to the CBI.

Reacting to Lalu’s snide remarks against him at Bhagalpur, Nitish said that some people forget decency in politics. I believe in doing work, Nitish said. Nitish claimed that everyone came to know about the Srijan scam after he brought it to the public domain on August 9, 2017.

Replying to a query, Nitish said that a drive has been launched against Benaami property in the country. Two senior ministers of Nitish cabinet: Vijendra Prasad Yadav and Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh, too on September 11 asked Lalu not cross the `Laxman Rekha’ ( limit) in politics.
