Patna : World No 9 Kei Nishikori, 28, Japan, upset World No 3 and winner of 20 Grand Slam singles title Roger Federer, 37, Switzerland, in straight sets in the Group Stage match of  Nitto ATP World Tour Finals 2018 on November 12, 2018, in London, UK. Nishikori beat Federer 7-6, 6-3.

Both the players committed 4 double faults each in the match. Nishikori won 3 games in a row. Federer served 4 Aces in the match to 2 by Nishikori. Nishikori won 2 break points to 1 by Federer. It was Nishikori’s first win over Federer since 2014.

World No 5 Alexander Zverev, 21, Germany, beat World No 7 Marin Cilic, 30, Croatia, in another Group Stage match. Zverev beat Cilic 7-6, 7-6 on November 12. Both the players fired 8 Aces in the match and committed 4 double faults each as well. Both of them also won three games in a row besides winning 2 break points each..
