Bhagalpur : Nine migrant workers were killed and several others injured in a head on collision between a bus and a truck on NH -31 at Naugachhia in Bhagalpur district on May 19, 2020, morning.
The truck carrying the labourers fell off the road after the accident and fell into a ditch. The truck was also carrying iron pipes, which fell on the workers after the accident. Naugachhia is a police district.
The driver and cleaner of the truck, which was coming from West Bengal via Katihar district in Bihar, fled from the spot, according to a police official. Identities of some of the labourers have been ascertained from their official documents, police said.announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh for the kin of each of the victims, an official release said.
