Patna: With the arrest of nine persons on December 22, Patna Police claimed to have busted a gang of vehicle lifters. Police also nrecovered nine stolen bikes from the possession of the arrested criminals, said Patna Senior SP (SSP) Manu Maharaaj on Thursday.
Police said that the SSP had been receiving inputs that a gang of criminals mainly involved in snatching and theft of two-wheelers are active in areas falling under Khusrupur police station in rural Patna. He directed SDPO, Fatuha, and Khusrupur ps SHO to verify the news and take action against those involved in this crime.
A police team led by SHO carried out raids to arrest the criminals. The police team along with the members of the Technical Cell came to know that some criminals had assembled at Tata Mor on NH-30 to commit some crime. Police reached the spot and arrested nine criminals from there. Acting on the revelations made by the arrested criminals, nine stolen bikes were also recovered.
The arrested criminals, during interrogation, told the police that they used to loot two-wheelers and with the help of local mechanics sold them. The criminals also used to supply these vehicles at cheap price to local 0tmarket after changing their number plate. Some of the two-wheelers were also sold at Hajipur and Muzaffarpur. During investigation, police also came to know that the members of the gang used to steal bikes using master key.
Police said that the arrested criminalswere identified as Rahul Kumar, Raju Kumar, Chotu Kumar, Kundan Kumar, Rajat Kumar, Ranvinay Singh, Vicky Kumar, Jitendra Kumar and Mukesh Vishwakarma, all from Khusrupur, Patna.
