Bagaha: Communication remained paralysed for three hours on NH 28 (b) on Sunday as an irate mob of villagers had placed body of boy of on the road near Koeriatola under Bagaha town police station in West Champaran district.
Sources said that Shubham Kumar, 8, son of Ramu Kushwaha of Koeriatola, was run over by a three- wheeler while crossing the road on Saturday evening. He was referred to Gorakhpur in a serious condition by Bagaha sub-divisional hospital but died on way. When the body reached the village, a furious mob of villager on Sunday blocked NH 28 (b) placing the body on it. They were protesting adequate compensation to his family.
Bagaha SDM Dharmendar Kumar along with police officials reached the spot and persuaded the villagers to lift the blockade. The SDM provided Rs 3,000 to the boy’s family on the spot to perform his last rites and assured to provide other government benefits to the victim family.
