Patna : New Zealand beat Pakistan by 5 wickets in the 4th ODI at Seddon Park, Hamilton, New Zealand, on January 16, 2018, to lead the five-match ODI series 4-0. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan scored 262/8 in 50 overs with Captain and wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmad, Fakhar Zaman, Harris Sohail and Mohammad Hafeez slamming half-centuries.
Hafeez was run out for 81 in 80 balls hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes while opener Kakhar Zaman scored 54 in 75 balls hitting 7 fours and a six. Harris Sohail made 50 in 74 balls hitting 4 fours and a six. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmad made 51 in 46 balls hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes.
For New Zealand, Tim Southee took 3/44 in 8 overs, Captain Kane Williamson 2/32 in 10 overs, Trent Boult 1/73 in 10 overs and Mitchell Santner 1/43 in 10 overs.
New Zealand scored 263/5 attaining the victory target in 45.5 overs with Collin de Grandhomme making an explosive 74 not out in 40 balls hitting 5 sixes and 7 fours while Henry Nicholls remained unbeaten on 52 in 70 balls hitting 3 fours.
Earlier, openers Martin Guptil and Collin Munro scored 31 and 56 respectively and were involved in a 88 run partnership for the first wicket. Munro hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in his 56 made in 42 balls while Guptil made 31 in 49 balls hitting 3 fours. Captain Williamson made 32 in 54 balls hitting only one four. Former Captain Ross Taylow was out for one while Tom Latham made 8. For Pakistan, S Khan took 3/42 in 10 overs, Harris Sohail 1/29 and R Raees 1/59.
