New Zealand all out for 243 in 3rd ODI against India, Taylor scores 93

Patna : New Zealand (NZ) were all out for 243 in 49 overs in the 3rd ODI against India at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, on January 28, 2019, with former captain Ross Taylor scoring 93 in 106 balls with 9 fours and wicketkeeper Tom Latham scoring 51 in 64 balls with 1 four and a six. Captain Kane Williamson scored 28 in 48 balls with 4 fours.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, New Zealand lost both their openers: Martin Guptil and Colin Munro, quite early making it 26/2 in 6.1 overs. Guptil fell to Bhuvaneshwaf Kumar for 13 with a six while Munro fell to fast bowler Mohammad Shami for 7.

Captain Kane Williamson fell to wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for 28 making it 59/3 in 16.2 overs. But, Ross Taylor and Tom Latham steadied the innings with a 119 run stand. Latham fell to Chahal for 51 when the score was 178. Hardik Pandya, returning to the ODI squad, then struck twice taking the wickets of Henry Nicholls ( 6) and Mitchell Santner (3) making it 198/6. Ross Taylor fell to Mohammad Shami when the score was 227.

Doug Bracewell, son of former NZ test player Brendon Bracewell and nephew of John Bracewell, was run out for 15. Spinner Ish Sodhi fell to Shami for 12 while Trent Boult fell to Bhuvaneshwar for 2.

For India, Mohammad Shami took 3/41 in 9 overs while Bhuvaneshwar Kumar took 2/46 in 10 overs. Hardik Pandya took 2/45 in 10 overs while Chahal took 2/51 in 9 overs.
