Sitamarhi : Two unidentified motorbike borne criminals shot dead a Nepalese citizen Bhaglu Mahto, 40, near Haidera Mill area close to village Kamaldah Chowk on NH77 under Bathanaha police station (PS) in Sitamarhi District in North Bihar on June 12, 2021, morning, looted Rs 4 lakh cash kept in a bag from his possession, and fled away towards Sonbarsa in the district.
The deceased along with his wife Birja Devi was returning to their native village Kavlasi under Malangwa (Sarlahi) District in Nepal after borrowing money from a relative in Sitamarhi Town. His wife said they were riding a bike but were forced to stop by the goons. The criminals fired on Bhaglu Mahto from a very close range. The villagers admitted him to a Sitamarhi Nursing Home where the doctors pronounced him brought dead.
Sadar SDPO, Sitamarhi, Ramakant Upadyaya, visited the place of occurence to probe into the incident and police are searching for CCTV footage of incident. Police remain clueless about the identity and whereabouts of the two accused as none has been arrested in this connection so far.
