Sitamarhi : After a long lockdown of nearly eleven months, probably the longest in the memory on Indo-Nepal people, the Nepal government opened 28 entry points with India in the last week of January 2021.

Jubilation can be seen among masses at Bairgania, Sonbarsa, and Bhittha Mor border posts in Sitamarhi District in North Bihar. Bairgania faces Gaur Bazar (Rautahat), Bhittha Mor’s Nepal side is Jaleshwar (Mohattary), and Sonbarsa has the advantage of facing Malangwa (Sarlahi).
A resident of Malahi under Sursand Block in Sitamarhi District Upendra Singh said, “I  visited the holy shrine at Janakpur Dham a few days ago after long closure of Nepal borders.”

Brisk border trade is in operation at all the three entry points in Sitamarhi District. Marriage negotiators are travelling between the two countries. The Himalayan kingdom has been following strict Covid-19 measures. The plying of buses have so far not been permitted in Nepal.
