New Delhi : Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on August 10, 2020, said that the NDA Government has taken various initiatives to boost fertiliser sector towards serving farmers. Gowda said that with a view to disseminate knowledge on optimum usage of fertiliser nutrients to sustain the agriculture productivity and to make farmers aware of new developments in the field of fertiliser usage, Department of Fertilisers, Department of Agriculture Cooperation & Farmers Welfare and Department of Agricultural Research and Education, jointly organised Fertiliser Application Awareness Programme for farmers.
Gowda further stated that to encourage research and innovation in fertiliser and fertiliser technology, CPSEs under Department of Fertilisers, had in August 2019 formed a separate think tank body called “Indian Council for Fertilisers and Fertiliser Technology Research (ICFFTR)”. The Council was registered as society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 on August 19, 2019.
The Council will undertake / promote R&D and research work in the area of fertiliser and fertiliser manufacturing technology, use of raw materials and innovation in products through partnership and collaboration with various research institutions, fertiliser industry and other stakeholders.
