Patna: Suspected naxals planted a cylinder bomb near busy Suryakund Talav under Deo block under the same police station in Aurangabad district on February 6. Panic prevailed in the locality as hundreds of devotees had gathered at Sauyakund Talav to take a holy dip. A market is also situated there where too a large number of people were present.

On getting information, officials of CRPF 153V/B Battalion and Deo police station SHO Pramod Kumar reached the spot and found a 5 kg cylinder bomb planted there with regulator fixed on it. Later, bomb diffusal squad and dog squad from CRPF camp at Dehri was called by Aurangabad SP Satyprakash. The bomb diffusal squad took the bomb to a secluded place and confirmed that there was no explosive in the bomb. Yet, the cylinder bomb was covered with sand bags and then diffused by the squad members. A huge explosion took place after the bomb was diffused.
