Patna : Maoists have threatened to blow up Gaya railway station and have allegedly demanded Rs 20 lakh as extortion amount. Gaya Railway Station Manager B N Prasad has received a letter from Maoists written on a letter pad of a local Congress worker in red colour. The letter has been issued by CPI (Maoists).
The letter mentioned “Anjani Kumar Sinha, Barmasia, Shmashan Road, Giridih, par 10 dino mein Rs.20 lakh bhej do nahi to station ko dynamite laga kar ura denge. Visphot mein job hi nuksan hoga, uske jimmedar tum hoge (send Rs 20 lakh to Anjani Kumar Sinha within 10 days or the station would be blown up by fixing dynamites and you would be responsible for the loss of life and property).”
The letter also carries derogatory remarks against Jharkhand DGP and Giridih SP and said that they would not be able take any action against them. Gaya station manager received the letter through post late on October 25, 2018, night. After receiving the letter, he submitted a written statement to Gaya GRP and RPF. Police officials said that they were investigating into the matter. Soon after receiving of the letter, Rail administration and local police were put on high alert.
It may be mentioned here that this is not the first incident when naxalites have threatened to blow up Gaya railway station. About two years ago, the naxalites had threatened to blow up Gaya railway station and International Airport at Gaya.
