Patna : PM Narendra Modi (NaMo) while addressing a poll meeting at Paliganj in Patna district on May 15, 2019, slammed the opposition for criticising him for making national security an election issue. He said that terrorism could be wiped out only by an aggressive strategy like the one adopted by his government. Paliganj falls under Patliputra parliamentary constituency (PC) from where Union Minister and sitting BJP MP Ram Kripal Yadav is seeking fresh mandate.
NaMo said the Mahamilavatis (opposition parties) say national security is not an issue. How can it not be one when so many common people lose their lives in terrorist attacks? he asked. The terrorists must be finished the way we did by chasing them to their hideouts (ghar mein ghuskar mara), NaMo said in an oblique reference to the Balakot air strikes.
The PM made an emotional appeal to the voters at the meeting saying this was his last public meeting in Bihar in the General Elections 2019 and the people’s love had made him confident of a victory. ” Please do ensure, in the last phase, that the magnitude of the victory is handsome,” NaMo urged the voters. “I will be back among you with my development projects in my fresh tenure,” he said. NaMo also attacked the Congress over Sam Pitrodas “hua to hua” remark about the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and said that it reflected the opposition party’s arrogance. The PM attacked the RJD for allegedly promoted criminalisation during its stint in power.
