Naomi Osaka remains World No 1, Serena returns to top ten

Patna : Reigning US Open and Australian Open Champion Naomi Osaka,21, has retained her World No 1 position in the WTA rankings released on February 18, 2019, with 6,970 points but two-time former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitová, 28, Czech Republic, has slipped two places to be ranked World No 4 with 5,120 points. Former World No 1 Simona Halep, 27, Romania, has jumped one place to be ranked World No 2 with 5,537 points replacing Kvitová. Stephen Sloane, 25, USA, too has jumped one place and is ranked World No 3 with 5,307 points.

Karolina Pliskova, 26, Czech Republic, remains World No 5 with 5,055 points while Elina Svitolina, 24, Ukraine, has jumped place to be ranked World No 6 with 5,020 points. But, reigning Wimbledon Champion Angelique Kerber, 31, has slipped one position to be ranked World No 7 with 4,960 points. Kiki Bertens, 27, Netherlands, remains World No 8 with 4,885 points. Aryna Sabalenka, Belarus, remains World No 9 with 3,565 points.

Serena Williams, 37, USA, winner of 23 Grand Slam singles titles, has returned to the top ten jumping one place in the rankings. Serena is World No 10 with 3,406 points. Maria Sharapova, 31, Russia, winner of 5 Grand Slam singles titles, remains World No 27 with 1,716 points. Caroline Wozniacki, 28, Denmark, has slipped 4 places to be ranked World No 14 with 3,118 points.

Ankita Raina, 26, India, remains World No 164 with 346 points but Karman Kaur Thandi, 20, India, has jumped 5 places to be ranked World No 207 with 284 points. Pranjala Yadlapalli, India, remains World No 293 with 167 points.
