New Delhi : The Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu undergone a successful Angioplasty at AIIMS, Delhi, on October 21, 2017. During a routine detailed medical checkup at AIIMS on October 20, a significant blockage was detected in one of the main artery, and it was stented by Prof Balram Bhargava, Department of Cardiology, AIIMS.

The President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Narendra Modi spoke to him over phone and inquired about his well being, according to a PIB release. The Vice President was discharged on October 21 in sound health and all parameters were normal. He was advised complete rest for three days and also as a precaution visitors are advised not to visit him during this period, according to a PIB release.
