Patna : Thirteen-time champion & 3rd seed Rafael Nadal, 35, Spain, drubbed 18th seed Jannik Sinner, 19, Italy, in straight sets in 4th round on June 7, 2021, to reach the quarter-finals of French Open, an ATP Grand Slam Slam tournament played on outdoor clay courts at Stade Roland Garros, Paris, France. World No 3 Nadal, the winner of record equalling 20 Grand Slam singles titles, beat Sinner 7-5, 6-3, 6-0 in 4th round on court Philippe Chatrier firing 4 Aces.
Nadal won 9 break points diring the match including 3 in the first set to 4 by the Italian. Nadal also won 8 games in a row in the match to 4 by Sinner. The Spaniard, howevrr, committed 7 double faults too to 4 by the ITalian. Siiner offered resistance in first set but Nadal completely dominated hinin the second and third set. Nadal, in all, won 99 points durint the match to 60 by Sinner. Nadal will face 10th Diego Schwartzman, 28, Argentina, in QFs.
