Patna : Second seed Rafael Nadal, 34, Spain, sailed past unseeded Jannik Sinner, 19, Italy, to reach the semi-finals of French Open, a Grand Slam tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts at Roland Garros, Paris, France, on October 7, 2020. He will meet 12th Diego Schwartzman, 28, Argentina, in SFs on October 9, 2020. Schwartzman stunned 3rd seed and reigning US Open Champion Dominic Thiem, 27, in quarter-finals in a five-set marathon on October 6, 2020, late night. Schwartzman had recently defeated Nadal in Italian Open QFs for the first time in his career.

The Spainiard won 6 break points in the match to 2 by Sinner. He also won 7 games in a row to 2 by the Italian.

Nadal, in all, won 106 points to 84 by Sinner, who had stunned 6th seed Alexander Zverev, Germany, in 4th round and 11th seed David Goffin, Belgium, in 1st round.
