Patna : His exit in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open (AO) 2018 notwithstanding,  Rafael Nadal, 31, Spain, remains World Number 1 Men’s tennis players according to the rankings released by the Association of Tennis Professional (ATP) on January 29, 2018, though just 155 points ahead of the Number 1 Roger Federer, 36, Switzerland, who won his sixth AO title on January 28, 2018, winning his 20th Grand Slam title. Nadal has 9,760 points while Federer has 9,605 points.

Marin Cilic, 29, Croatia, has jumped three spots to be Number 3 after finishing runner up to Federer in the final of AO 2018. Cilic has 4,960 points.

Grigor Dimitrov, 26, Bulgaria, has slipped one position to the fourth position in the latest ATP rankings with 4,630 points. Alexander Zverev, 20, Germany, has also splipped one place to be Number 5 while Dominic Thiem, 24, Austria, has slipped one place to be Number 6 while David Goffin, 27, Belgium, is Number 7 and Jack Sock, 25, USA, is Number 8. Juan Martin Del Porto, 29, Argentina, is placed at Number 9 and Pablo Carreno Busta, 26, Spain, is at Number 10.

Former World Number 1 Novak Djokovic, 30, has jumped one position to be Number 13 with 2,470 points. Nick Kyrgios, 22, Australia, is ranked 14th with 2,395 points. Stan Wawrinka, 32, Switzerland, has slipped seven position to be ranked 15th in the latest ATP rankings. Another former World Number 1 Any Murray, UK, is placed at 20th position.

Hyeon Chung, 21, South Korea, who lost in the semi-finals of AO 2018 to Federer, has jumped 29 places to be ranked at 29th in the latest rankings. Tennys Sandgre, 26, USA, another suprise packet at the AO 2018 reaching the quarterfinals, has jumped 42 places to be placed at 55th position. Kyle Edmund, 23, UK, has also jumped 23 laces to ranked 26th. Edmund had lost in the semi-finals of AO 2018.

Yuki Bhambri, 25, India, has also jumped 8 position to be ranked 111th in the ATP rankings while Ramkumar Ramnathan, 23, India, has jumped one place to ranked 140.
