Patna : World Number 1 tennis player Rafael Nadal, Spain, on November 3, 2017, pulled out of ATP Paris Masters event before his quarterfinals match against qualifier Filip Krajinovic, Serbia, due to a right knee injury. Nadal, 31, is, however, assured to finish No1 at the end of the year.

Incidentally, Nadal has never won the Paris Masters though he had reached the final in 2007. He said he would consult the doctors to assess the condition of his right knee. His participation in the ATP World Tour Finals beginning on November 12 in London is doubtful now. John Usner, US, defeated Juan Martin del Porto, Argentina, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 in the quarterfinals shattering latter’s hope of participating in ATP World Tour Final in London.
